The Discipline of Peace

How can we create peace in the world? Start with our self! Find our inner peace. There is a great need today to connect to our inner peace, reduce the stress that so many people are experiencing.

I have presented this in different way to very different people, from the cultural frontrunners in Århus to Quaker 5th graders in USA, to climate summit visitors in Copenhagen to friends and family. It is a amazing to see how this always touches something deep in the people who partake.

The First Peace, which is the most important, is that which comes within the souls of people when they realize their relationship, their oneness, with the universe and all its powers, and when they realize that at the center of the universe dwells Wakan Tanka, the Great Spirit, and that this center is everywhere, and it is within each of us.

This is the real peace, and others are but reflections of this. The second peace is that which is made by two individuals, and the third is that which is made between two nations. But above all you should understand that there can never be peace between nations until there is known that true peace, which, as I have often said, is within the souls of the people.”
